Sheridan SIRT Centre featured on CBCS The National:

On New Year’s Day, Sheridan’s Screen Industries Research and Training Centre (SIRT) was featured on The National as part of a segment on Ontario’s growth as a centre for 3D moviemaking.  The segment begins by highlighting SIRT’s role as an industry incubator for 3D research and development, which helps local 3D companies and crews become more competitive. The Centre’s staff demonstrated SIRT’s virtual camera, which helps filmmakers save time and money by allowing them to preview key technical decisions associated with 3D production.

Sheridan opens Applied Research and Collaboration Centre at Oakville campus:

Sheridan College recently celebrated the official opening of its new Applied Research and Collaboration Centre at its Oakville campus. The 1,800-square-foot centre is dedicated for use by faculty, students, and external partners specifically involved in research projects administered through the college's Office of Applied Research and Innovation. The centre is equipped with projection screens, flat-screen TVs, and moveable tables and seating, which could fit 60 to 75 individuals at maximum capacity.

SIRT Centre recognized in VARIETY article highlighting Ontario’s 3D expertise

Variety noted Sheridan’s Screen Industries Research and Training (SIRT) Centre among Ontario’s latest activities in the development of cutting-edge 3D entertainment in a recent article published as part of a comprehensive update on show business in Canada. The SIRT Centre, an industry/academic applied research facility established by Sheridan at Pinewood Toronto Studios, is recognized for its role in helping to foster innovation within the industry, along with the Ontario Media Development Corporation and York University’s Film Innovation Consortium.

Applied research opportunity at Sheridan Elder Research Centre for Creative Aging

The Sheridan Elder Research Centre for Creative Aging (SERCCA) is offering

an exciting opportunity to participate in an applied research initiative this Fall.

Starting October 6 'Fiction Writing from Life Experience' will be offered in-person at SERC and online. Joyce Wayne, award winning author and Sheridan journalism faculty member, is the lead on the project and has exciting plans in store with respect to the two different delivery models.

Official Launch of HalTech at Sheridan

The Hon. Glen Murray, Minister of Research and Innovation, came to Sheridan on Friday, March 11th to announce the launch of Halton’s Regional Innovation Centre, HalTech, into the Ontario Network of Excellence. Click here for more details.

Oakville MPP Kevin Flynn was also in attendance, and took the opportunity to announce the Kevin Flynn App, created in partnership with Sheridan College.
